Immerse yourself in 3 days of knitting with others of like mind. Countrywool Retreats are fashioned to allow
for total relaxation while you make new friends
and learn a few new knitting skills.  
September in the Catskill Mountains can be mild and the leaves are just starting to display their fiery Fall colors.
Start and end your day with a swim in the indoor pool,
or a brisk hike on a mountain trail.
A Knitting Massage Therapist will be on site.

Classes take place in the Carriage House:


which will be open 24 hours for the weekend,
 and stocked with drinks/snacks.

FRIDAY:

2:30-5:30

Come and unwind in the beautiful Catskill Mountains.
Those of you who are new to seamless knitting will enjoy the cameraderie
of a great supportive group, and those of you who are confirmed knitaholics
 will enjoy some new techniques.



materials

Class projects will include a hat and/or a sweater,
in either a child or adult size.



Yarns, needles and notions needed
  • Norwegian HEILO wool yarn (50 grams/109 yards) in amounts needed for sweater size:      from 12 skeins for children to 29 skeins for xxx-large adults
    • OR 3 skeins (1 each of 3 different colors) total for hat project only
  • Circular needle and double pointed needles in sizes 2 and 4 OR 3 and 5:
    • in 16" lengths for hat
    • in 16" and 24" lengths for kid sweaters
    • in 16" and 32-40" for adult sweaters
  • Two kinds of ring markers split ring and closed ring (or teeny safety pins) - 12 of each.
  • Double ended stitch holders. At least 5 for sweater.
  • Darning needle. Bent tip is easier to use if you are buying new.
  • Gauge ruler
  • Measuring tape
  • Crochet hook size H or larger
  • 8 x 10" magnetic board
  • Mercerized worsted or sport weight cotton waste yarn...10 yards
  • Your Knitting Notebook!!!


Bring:  favorite sweater's ACTUAL finished measurement,
or bring the sweater and we'll measure together.

Yarn and needles for all projects
will be available at the workshop.
New for 2008! Preordered (nonreturnable) yarn packs are discounted 10%.


The WINTERCLOVE INN will be our host for the gathering, and you will make reservations for your room directly with them. Three meals a day are included with your room rental, and there are single as well as double rooms available, so register early to get your choice.  Please ask for first floor rooms if the stairs will be a hardship for you. The Inn is very accommodating, so feel free to call (518)622-3267) about any special needs, including  foods, you may have.
