Countrywool News

Are the birds singing in your neighborhood?Spring is definitely in the air. The days warm up nicely, but those spring mornings still call for wool socks.  At the Rip Van Winkle Sock Retreat 2 weeks ago LOTS of socks and sock

techniques were worked on but the big hit were the SWEDISH SOCKS featured that weekend:
$4.00

I have always loved the wee Swedish chart I found years ago at one of Beth Brown Reinsel'sclasses (anyone remember the STITCHES CAMP at Lake George, NY?).I came up with an unconventional approach to creating the heel flap heel in that continuous patternwith no gusset shaping and was PLEASED AS PUNCH when the retreaters did not have any troublewith the directions. The pattern is done and ready for purchased download if you clickthe BUY NOW button.

The SPRING YARN CRAWL is upon us in 2 weeks! Fill a car with your knitting buddiesand enjoy the Hudson Valley budding weather! A very special treat will be handed out to eachand every person who stops by:
March 24 & 25
Saturday 10-6   and   Sunday 12-4

BIG CHANGES are arriving here at Countrywool in 2012. The economy has taken an unexpected (and debilitating) slice out of my business and I will be returning to the work force to meet the bills.
I will keep the shop open on SUNDAYS starting March 18 to meet your needs, and I SO APPRECIATE that you might choose to SHOP LOCAL and keep my little place going in these tough times. The retreats and requested knitting & spinning classes will continue on, and I will keep writing those new knitting patterns that crowd my head. SIT N KNIT will continue from 12-3 on Sundays so do stop by and chat while you spend a fun 3 hours knitting. And you can ALWAYS request to have your yarns, patterns and needles mailed to you when you shop through the website.

Happy Knitting and Spinning!

Claudia
